It is quite amazing to note that American can spend an estimated $13.2 billion dollars on cosmetic surgery. This is the figure that spent by Americans in enhancing their physical appearance through cosmetic surgery last year. And that figure is more than the gross domestic product of countries such as Bolivia or Brunei. Amazing, isn’t it?
The figure alone illustrates the amazing increase of plastic surgery spending throughout the years. And in all the procedures performed in 2007, Botox accounts for 2.8 million treatments, which cost more than $1 billion in the United States alone.
For over 10 years, surgical cosmetic procedures have increased more than double. And not surprisingly, Botox injections have grown nearly eight-fold.
These statistics come from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Inc. The report is based 12,000 surveys sent to board-certified surgeons and physicians in plastic surgery, dermatology and otolaryngology.
We can clearly see that Botox is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment for both men and women. It works very well in eliminating facial lines caused by aging. It can even be used along side facelift for a more effective result.
Botox is the quick-fix solution for people who long to take years off their face. One can look 5 to 10 years younger with just a few sessions and the results are really very convincing. It is expected that this growing trend in Botox treatments will continue this year and in the years to come.
