Breast Reduction

  • ins: Breast Enhancement Tag(s):

    It is a common notion that women with natural big breasts are so fortunate. They have what other women are dying to have. After all, women like to have huge breasts. In fact, breast augmentation surgery would not have been around if that need doesn’t exist.

    However, women with huge breasts also have issues. And these issues are related to the very thing that other women are envious about: huge breasts!

    The thing is, women with very large, sagging breasts are likely to have neck, back, and shoulder pain. In addition to that, very large breasts are quite heavy, so there is difficulty to do certain things like exercise. Moreover, women with large breasts can’t seem to be able to wear their favorite clothes. Others also have psychological dilemmas and low self–esteem because they think they have something that they don’t actually like, especially if the breast are too large for their body size.

    It is in this situation that a breast reduction surgery is necessary. Breast reduction surgery makes the breasts smaller through the removal of excess fatty and glandular tissue in the breast, and excess skin. Removing these elements would enable the breast to be pulled tighter, thereby making them lighter, smaller, and firmer.

    The procedure can be done in a hospital, an outpatient surgical center or an office-based surgical suite, using general anesthesia. The surgery would take between two to four hours to complete.

    There are different techniques to breast reduction surgery but the most common method employed is to create an anchor-shaped incision around the areola. After the incision is created, fatty tissue, glandular tissue and excess skin are removed.

    Patients may be able to return to work within two weeks, but strenuous activities along with heavy lifting or pushing have to be avoided for three to four weeks.

    Breast reduction surgery may be performed on women of all ages, but it is much appropriate to postpone the operation until the breasts are fully developed. Women who are planning to breast-feed are not qualified to undergo operation.

    Potential complications in breast reduction surgery include adverse anesthesia reactions, bleeding, excessive scarring, infection, unevenly positioned nipples and mismatched breasts. Complications can be avoided with a board-certified cosmetic surgeon around. So those who are planning to undergo cosmetic surgery procedure should be wise in choosing their cosmetic surgeons.
