It is pretty ironic and somewhat demoralizing for Chinese surgeons, but Chinese women have spoken up and aired their views about who they trust most when going under the knife.
Chinese women say that they prefer South Korean doctors for their plastic surgery makeovers. They say that the surgeons in South Korea are safer and more skilled than their Chinese counterparts.
It is to be noted that is fast becoming the plastic surgery capital of Asia, where famous Asian celebrities get their faces and bodies done in order to attract legions of fans across the region. So it does quite follow that people tend to see South Korean plastic surgeons as better surgeons than most surgeons in the Asian region.
Here’s one explanation from a 24-year old Chinese woman trying to get a makeover in a South Korean-run clinic:
"I think Korean doctors are more professional than Chinese doctors. I also prefer them to American or European doctors because they know Asian faces better.”
That may not be what the majority thinks but it is good to know who Chinese women turn to when they need a cosmetic surgery procedure. It looks like Chinese plastic surgeons need to do a lot of work on this one. That is, if they don’t want their South Korean counterparts to take the full advantage, considering that China is one huge market for cosmetic surgery.
Also, one notable aspect of this surge in plastic surgery procedures among Chinese women is the way they admire Korean beauties such as Song Hye-kyo and Kim Tae-hee. Most of the patients carry with them photographs of either of the two actresses, and ask their surgeons to make them look like their idols. Easier said than done but the Korean surgeons are trying their best to give their clients the best results possible. And from the looks of it, and the way Chinese women think of them, the surgeons are pretty much doing a good job.
