Complications from semi-permanent fillers

Everybody wants to have Angelina Jolie’s luscious lips. This is one of the reasons why injectable fillers become so popular to date. Jessica Simpson even tried that for herself, but she wasn’t very much impressed with the results. She even thought that she looked hideous with them that’s why she was so relieved that it’s now over.

Jessica’s case might be considered isolated or uncommon, but it does give people enough reason to be more careful with their choices of cosmetic treatments.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Miles Graivier has warned that some fillers carry a higher risk of complications, which can lead to unsatisfactory results. He stressed that the problem lies in the use of semi-permanent fillers.

For augmenting the inner lip, hyaluronic acid fillers set the norm. They usually last three to six months, and thus, carry a little risk. However, when people choose to use semi-permanent fillers, this is where a higher rate of complications may occur. These complications may include visible lumps and clumping. And since the results can last from one to two years, patients are left with poor results for several months.
