Transform, the leading cosmetic surgery makeover firm in the United Kingdom, is said to be recession-proof, according to Pat Dunion, the company’s chief operating officer.
Pat Dunion claims that if thing go as planned, Transform will become the world’s first publicly quoted cosmetic surgery firm within three years. Today, the company is already the leader of its field in Britain. And it has employed an effective marketing strategy so its website gets to the topmost position in the search engine results for top plastic surgery keywords.
Transform earns at least £40m a year. It performs 26 operations a day in its 22 clinics and two hospitals in the UK. In just a month, it can generate £500,000 from non-surgical procedures such as Botox or Collagen injections, which costs from £199 per session.
Dunion admits that plastic surgery in the UK still has to reach the level similar to that of the U.S. Only one percent of UK adults get cosmetic surgery as compared to the 3 percent in the U.S. But the company is optimistic that the gap will narrow down as what other countries have already been doing.
Transform now employs 40 cosmetic surgeons. Half of which are from Britain, and the rest from Italy and Poland. The company’s huge amounts of expenses go to these skilled doctors, aside from the company’s expansion programs thru building new hospitals.
Transform is also poised to be the first UK firm to provide a surgery-less facelift. Dunion said that patients could get a facelift through a combination of Botox, fillers and lasers. No surgery involved.
“Our ambition is to be leading edge, not bleeding edge,” Dunion said. “It used to be for the rich and famous and people didn't want to talk about it, but now it's become so much more acceptable and accessible,” she added.
