      What was considered before as absurdity is now becoming a popular practice. Today, women, even the young ones, are considering genital cosmetic surgery.

      It was only recently that Jenna Jameson, a popular adult film star has had vaginoplasty to tighten and beautify her privates. And just recently too, a survey in Australia has revealed that women seek labiaplasty at such a young age. Women are getting anxious about their appearance and even their genitals need to look presentable in order for them to feel good about themselves. Now, we can expect that there would be a dramatic increase of the number of women who will undergo genital cosmetic surgery this year.

      Cosmetic surgery patients might soon be free from worries of wounds and slow recovery when the results of a new preliminary study will be proven worthy of some serious implementation. According to the study, a topical gel derived from a patient’s own blood may help wounds heal more quickly and completely.

      A group of U.S. researches tested the effectiveness of a gel made from platelets from the blood of eight healthy men and women ages 21 and older. The researchers made five 4-millimeter skin wounds 3 centimeters apart on both the right and left upper thighs of all the volunteers.

      Brand New You, a new magazine that is set to release its launch issue on May 24, is conducting a competition for its readers. The prize includes £5,000 worth of cosmetic surgery, a hair makeover from the current British Hairdresser of the Year, laser treatment, teeth whitening and a goody bag with hundreds of pounds worth of cosmetics.

      The competition is set to run in the launch issue of the magazine. The first issue, moreover, also offers readers the chance to get their hands on free beauty products, discounts on world renowned spas, and membership to a leading femaly-only gym chain.

      The UK Department of Health has asked the cosmetic surgery industry to work on formulating safety measures in the cosmetic use of Botox and dermal fillers. This challenge was accepted by the Independent Health Advisory Services (IHAS), which will take the lead in setting up a self-regulatory scheme.

      The Government’s move to encourage regulation over non-surgical treatments was prompted by the increasing number of incompetent medical spas that offer injectable fillers to clients. It has been noted that dermal fillers should be administered by qualified physicians alone in order to avoid risks and complications. However, it seems that this has never been followed.

      According to a survey conducted by the Associated Free Press (AFP) agency, more and more Portuguese women are coming to Argentina for their plastic surgery makeovers. It has been known that Argentina is offering first-class plastic surgery that is 75 percent cheaper than that of United States and European prices.

      But it is not only the Portuguese women who are making the most of Argentina’s bargain prices. Spanish, French, and Italian counterparts are also jumping on the face lift bandwagon and saving themselves hundreds of euros.
