Facelift
Monday May 29, 2006 in: Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Tag(s):
Everybody loves a young, smooth and supple skin. In fact, everyone wants to have one, thus, beauty products ranging from facial cleansers to cold night-creams have been proliferating since time immemorial just to address that need.
Sadly, as one grows old, so does the skin. Wrinkles and jowls begin to become visible as well as excess tissues form at the front of the neck. What was once a smooth and flawless face is now becoming to resemble Wilson the Pug. It is needless to say that having wrinkles and jowls is not a pretty sight. Gravity and old age are the primary culprits of this menace, though blaming them certainly does nothing to alleviate the condition.

Botox Injections
Wednesday May 10, 2006 in: Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Tag(s):
Not too many people are keen on going under a surgeon’s knife, whether they be for general surgery or cosmetic surgery purposes. There are even some who faint at the sight of an injection needle, a scalpel, or just seeing somebody being cut with something sharp.
That is probably why non-surgical cosmetic procedures are becoming more and more popular with those who want to improve their looks but are deathly afraid of surgery. Among the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures nowadays are Botox injections.

“Scarless” Breast Augmentation
Wednesday May 10, 2006 in: Breast Enhancement
Tag(s):
Breast augmentation is getting more and more popular. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, a total of 364,610 procedures were performed last year, a nine percent rise from 2004.
But just like any type of surgery, breast augmentation surgery leaves scars, and visible ones at that. Traditional approaches to the procedure involve making incisions, and therefore leaving scars, right on the breasts or in the armpits. However, there now exists an alternative for those who aren’t keen on letting on that they’ve had their breasts enhanced. The procedure is called TUBA, which stands for transumbilical breast augmentation. It is a new and rapidly evolving technique which results in virtually “scarless” breast augmentations.

The latest buzz about Ashlee Simpson’s nose job has once again affirmed the place of rhinoplasty as one of the top five most sough-after procedures in cosmetic surgery along with liposuction, breast augmentation, cosmetic eyelid surgery, and tummy tuck.
While concerned folks are worried that this modification to Ashlee’s nose might affect the way she sings, Jessica’s 25-year-old sister has been very happy about the outcome. She stressed that the procedure gave her the confidence she needs, as she can now discard the “ugly-duckling” perspective she had about herself.

Options for Balding Men
Wednesday May 10, 2006 in: Male Cosmetic Surgery
Tag(s):
Let’s face it, baldness among men is becoming pretty common these days. Everywhere you look, you see a lot of men suffering from hair loss, which is primarily caused by a combination of a history of baldness in the family, hormonal changes and aging.
Many struggle to camouflage their thinning crowns by combing whatever hair they have left towards the exposed areas, or by wearing hats almost all the time. However, there are more sensible and practical ways of dealing with hair loss. One obvious solution is wearing wigs. Another is by using hair loss treatment products such as Rogaine and Propecia to speed up hair growth.

Men and Cosmetic Surgery
Wednesday May 10, 2006 in: Male Cosmetic Surgery
Tag(s):
Cosmetic surgery has grown so much for the past years that surgeons have noticed a considerable increase in the number of males who are willing to go under the knife. In fact, many others have already undergone different procedures to modify those unsightly portions of their anatomy and achieve the shape and look they desired to have. According to this news story, the number of men who are considering plastic surgery has shot up to remarkable levels. When I began practice almost 40 years ago, we would see one man for every 20 women for cosmetic surgery. But now we see one man for probably every four women.

Finding Answers Through Breast Enhancement
Wednesday May 10, 2006 in: Breast Enhancement
Tag(s):
Generally, women desire a fuller bustline. That desire might have been caused by seeing other women with big boobs enjoying the attention that guys give for such assets or by witnessing how huge breasts, especially if they are perky and firm, make a woman a lot sexier and beautiful to look at.
Some women are lucky enough to be endowed with big melons by birth. Some are not that lucky though. And the unlucky ones, in general, are the susceptible victims of insecurity and low self-esteem due to something they know they lack. It is as if, having small breasts makes one less of a woman compared to others.
