Good news for those who are suffering from the excruciating pain brought by migraine. There is a surgical technique developed in order to scrap migraine off the health-problem list and start living a pain-free life.
Migraine sufferers know exactly how it is to be attacked by migraine headaches. Migraine’s nature of prolonged headache and severe pain is enough to be happy with things that bring healing. Not only that, migraine is also accompanied by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or frequent urination.
The new procedure called migraine headache surgery is actually inspired by the side effect of another cosmetic surgery procedure called forehead lift or brow lift. According to onlinenews.com:
Patients undergoing the plastic surgery technique, which involves cutting muscle in the forehead, reported that their migraine headaches disappeared, writes researcher Bahman Guyuron, MD, professor of plastic surgery with Case Western Reserve University and the American Migraine Center.
Based on that pattern, Guyuron and colleagues designed two surgical techniques specifically designed to identify migraine trigger points and treat migraine headaches. Their current study offers a report on the patients’ outcomes.
The procedure is still subject for further testing though. However, just like the article’s description, this technique sure does look promising.
