In the previous entries of this blog, liposuction and tumescent liposuction were already discussed. Now, another body contouring procedure under the umbrella of liposuction is taking center stage. This procedure is developed by Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon Dr. David Amron and this is called mini-liposuction.

Mini-liposuction means exactly what it is, a shorter version of the liposuction procedure. Mini-liposuction is the ideal method to use when making spot reductions in one or two stomach areas of individuals who are closer to their ideal body weight. Basically, mini-lipo is suitable for those who need minimal fat reduction.

Mini-liposuction focuses on just one or two areas of the body. It normally takes less than an hour to finish and it removes less than one liter or 2.5 pounds of fat. The procedure can be done under local anesthesia so patients face lesser amount of risks. Moreover, mini-liposuction costs less. The amount falls under $2500 surgeon fee.

The areas of the body that mini-liposuction can take care of are those located around the knees, beneath the chin, above the breast, at the armpit and behind the elbows. Other areas that accumulate small amounts of excess fat can also be considered.
