Facial rejuvenation has grown through the years. Before, techniques were limited to just eliminating wrinkles while certain factors were overlooked. Today, cosmetic surgery has grown to a point where it has a deeper understanding on the way the skin behaves, and thus, it has created a number of specialized techniques that would provide results not quite possible years ago.

The Phoenix has an interesting article written by Dr. Dennis Montiero, stressing the available options in facial rejuvenation that patients can avail without worrying about long recovery period. Several minimally invasive procedures exist and they help patients get some work done without skipping work and other important activities.

This is what Dr. Montiero has to say:

Some of the new treatments now available are less invasive techniques for face, brow, and eyelid lifting, BOTOX, injectable fillers, pulsed light and laser treatments, chemical peels, thermage, and advanced skin care products.
BOTOX revolutionized the non surgical treatment of facial aging by temporarily eliminating or minimizing frown lines, crow’s feet and other wrinkles of expression for which there were no good treatments prior to the introduction of BOTOX. Injections are performed in the office requiring no anaesthetic, and allowing an immediate return to normal activities. BOTOX is very often used in combination with other treatments.

With the presence of several procedures, comes the dilemma of determining which procedure works best. There is no exact rule here. It entirely depends on the condition of the patient concerned.

This is where a thorough consultation with the cosmetic surgeon is of significant importance. The physician gets to know the patient he or she is dealing with and creates a surgical or non-surgical plan that works best for the patient.
