Rosie O’Donnell has been an outspoken advocate against plastic surgery. Now that she among other celebrities such as Larry Hagman, and Catherine Deneuve are about to appear for guest roles on Nip/Tuck, an award-winning drama about plastic surgery, controversies might emerge concerning the sudden shift.
Nip/Tuck is on its way to its fourth season and it has been enjoying a tremendous success. The plastic-surgery-related TV hit is also about to bring in Brooke Shields, Richard Chamberlain, Kathleen Turner, and Peter Dinklage as guest stars.
Nip/Tuck, a Golden Globe-winning drama about two Miami plastic surgeons who are best friends and business partners, will return on September 5 on Fox.
As with Rosie’s involvement on the show, Chronicle Herald quoted Ryan Murphy, the show creator, saying that O’Donnell considers Nip/Tuck as an anti-plastic surgery show because it brings out the idea that plastic surgery does not solve people’s problems.
Patients who have had successful plastic surgery operations and who have been very much happy with the results might disprove Rosie O’Donnell’s statements about plastic surgery not being able to bring back their self-confidence and self-esteem.
It is also quite funny for O’Donnell to consider Nip/Tuck as an anti-plastic surgery show considering that there has been a remarkable increase on the demand for cosmetic surgery procedures ever since TV shows like Nip/Tuck and Extreme Makeover came into the scene.
