There’s another reason why people opt to have cosmetic surgery. Aside from the fact that most people go under the knife in order to advance their careers or get the job of a lifetime, men and women are now getting their bodies done to keep up with the requirements of tying the knot.
Financial Express reveals more about this rising trend, which is taking place in India. Here’s what it has to say:
“Girls and boys are like products in the marriage market. It is easier for a beautiful girl to find a partner who is handsome and wealthy,” says Rashmi Chaudhary, who got her nose corrected before her parents began hunting for a groom for her. “My nose was a little flat. I feel much better now,” she adds.
According to experts, this trend was hitherto restricted only to the rich, but now even would-be brides and grooms from less wealthy segments go under the knife. Reconstructive surgeries are still quite expensive, but with cheaper options of each operation emerging in recent times, they have become more accessible than ever before.
We could only hope that people don’t get cosmetic surgery before a funeral or a dinner date. It seems that everyone is creating more reasons to go under the knife. Anyway, as long as all the right factors and considerations are in place, there really is nothing to worry about the on-going trend.
