Teen Breast Enlargement Issues

The trend of young girls having breast augmentation has become quite alarming especially when an 18-year-old cheerleader from Florida named Stephanie Kuleba underwent a breast augmentation surgery on March 22 and died.

Dr. Frederick Lukash, a plastic surgeon, said that he has performed many breast augmentations on girls under the age of 18 for a number of reasons. He was wondering why there is so much attention has been focused on the fact that Kuleba was having breast surgery but there was little on the fact that she had malignant hypothermia, a disorder that occurs in every 5,000 to 50,000 patients who are given anesthesia.

However, the Food and Drug Administration and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons are against the practice of breast enlargement on teenage girls for purely cosmetic reasons. Experts said that there are deeper issues involved why teens want plastic surgery and that they need guidance more than they need to alter their bodies.

"I had been working with counselors. I definitely had deep issues," said Jaime who went through the same pressure as a teen.

"Make sure it is something that you really want," said Jaime when asked what advice she would have for young girls seeking breast augmentation. "Make sure that you do your research and that you go to the best doctor possible, somebody like Dr. Lukash who is going to care about you and not just want to do the surgery to do the surgery."

For teens, it is best to stay focused on their studies than to worry about their looks so much. Teen breast enlargement surgery is way too risky for these young girls so it is best to delay the operation at a later time when their bodies are actually ready.
